4 screws and no more other accessories?

On our previous review on Plextor M6 PRO 2.5” SATA III SSD, it has added accessories such as 3.5” SSD Bracket and SATA cable, so you can install and use it on your PC/Computer. While SP 2.5” SATA III SSD Slim S60 will leave you with 4 screws to mount it on ultrabook/slim notebook. Considering you can buy third party 3.5” SSD Bracket in some local/online stores, and the SP SATA III SSD Slim S60 comes with a reasonable price, it’s a compromise that can be dealt with.

Plextor M6 PRO 2.5-inch SATA SSD and SP 2.5-inch SATA III SSD Slim S60 – Comparison Specs Sheet:

Judging from the comparison specs sheet, the both have superb sequential read and write speed. Plextor M6 PRO has 256GB capacity which is larger by 16GB versus SP SSD Slim S60 which has only 240GB. Meanwhile, the SP SSD Slim S60 has the higher sequential read speed by 5 MB/s and higher sequential write speed by 10 MB/s. In read world scenario, if we deal small amount of data to transfer files, you won’t see the actual difference. But in larger bulk of data, that would be the scenario where you can see the 5MB/s of read and 10MB/s of write comes into play. As price is concern, SP SSD Slim S60 is cheaper compared to Plextor M6 PRO. But then again, Plextor M6 PRO has add-ons and software that you can really use for, which goes to the price differences between the two competitive SSD’s.

VERDICT: Excellent data transfer rate (in read and write sequential speed), Excellent Warranty in an affordable and reasonable price. Rating: 9/10
