First of all before we begin to discuss on how to change, alter, add or remove EXIF Data or Personal Information from your Digital Data / Images or Photos, let’s us identify the EXIF Data.
What is EXIF Data?
(EXIF or Exif) also known as Exchangeable image file format is a standardized or a method to keep digital information such as your camera settings, camera information, including was the images/photos have been taken. For example, if you have a Smartphone with GPS enabled, then you capture an image or photo, from that moment, Exif data were created to tell where the image does took place, individual settings, and so on…
So how do we extract them? Good question. There are tons of digital image editing tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, ACDSee, and so on… But I’ll give an example, from the sample screenshot below, I used Photoshop to extract the information and save it as the XMP file.
So what is an XMP file? XMP also know as Extensible Metadata Platform is an ISO standard, created by Adobe Systems Inc. for such processing or interchange of metadata / personal information within the image / photo as you can see my sample screenshot.
There are tons of Exif and XMP reader/writer, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Ligthroom, ACDSee Pro, and so on… For the meantime, I’ll leave this in your hands to do a research. You can google it to know more about Exif and XMP data.
