Featuring Ubuntu Software Centre to Install Application
by: Revengksky Joseph D. Reyes (a.k.a rjdreyes)
Lately, I install Ubuntu 10.04 on Virtual Box, and pretty same thing on how you install it at your very own computer.
Computer Specifications: ASUS P5P800S Motherboard, 2GB DDR Kingston, Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.0 GHz, DVDRW ROM, 500 GB Seagate HDD, Orion Casing with PSU 500watts .
(Note: In order to use this service, you must have an internet connection so that if your trying to install available updates, it will downloaded on your Ubuntu OS.)
In Ubuntu there is a easy and the hardest way to use the application you want. If you would like to explore Ubuntu at hand immediately, the fastest way around is to used applications right away with quick and easy installation.
If you are not that familiar with Ubuntu OS,(whether you are a Windows User at first hand), you can install the application right way by using Ubuntu Software Centre which is a better visual and fastest way to install your favorite application.
If you are using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS – by default it used GNOME GUI, to used the Ubuntu Software Centre, go to Applications, then click Ubuntu Software Center(at the bottom of menu). See the pictures below.
You can also put it at your own taskbar or sidebar a shortcut icon right away. 😀
And I think at Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 release – by default it used Unity GUI, to used the Ubuntu Software Centre, just look at the side bar panel menu, (look at the basket bag icon), then click it and there you have it. 😀 See the pictures below.
You can choose, Install application you want and also you can remove or uninstall application that you wouldn’t need. 😀
Welcome to Ubuntu World! 😀
