Nokia is one of the biggest mobile manufacturer and producer here in Asia. Since in my time, when I was in college, I was avid fan of their mobile phones. They create fashionable phones which I fave and they sale very cheap price for a basic or entry level mobile phones.
But ever since the smartphones like iPhone and Android Smartphones begin to emerge to the public, Nokia Sales went down and their phones were ignored by most of my friends. Nowadays, when I met my friend and ask what phones they have, their answered were like “I got an iPhone given by my dad”, or “I got an Android Smartphone, it’s really cheap and there tons of things you can do”.
Yesterday, as I watch the news on International Channel, they report that the Nokia Finland Manufacturing Plant is going to shutdown and many people in their company will lose their job.
Too sad to hear the story, but for more clear statement, I surf and search on the web for the related news, then I saw the headlines in the INQUIRER, Nokia will shut down its UK online store, “FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia has confirmed that it is planning to close its online store in the UK.” – the INQUIRER by: Chris Martin, June 15, 2012
It didn’t shock me and it was not that surprising, because I really expected this things going to happen on Nokia. As far as I know, leading mobile manufacturers and producers today were Samsung, iPhone, HTC, Sony, and other companies produce affordable Smartphones which has an Android OS on it or an expensive yet superb versatility iPhone Smartphones.
But the news tells that the Nokia development were focusing more on Smartphones, and they going to regain their market and sales within their new products. Hmm… When? Only time will tell, will it be available on the public.
