The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in USA announces that allowing personal electronics (such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops) that can be used during flights.

Same thing goes to our Philippine commercial Aircrafts, as the CAB (Civil Aeronautics Board) and CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines), announces the allowing of mobile devices that can be used during flights.

TO SUM IT UP INTO A GUIDE ON USING GADGETS DURING ON FLIGHTS, HERE ARE THE THINGS YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND:

IF AIRCRAFT DOORS ARE OPEN?

Gadgets during on Flights
* Itโ€™s okay to used mobile devices, such as laptops, tablets, and mobile phones for web surfing, SMS and make calls while the aircraft doors are open. Unless the senior cabin crew or the pilot-in-command prohibits the use of these devices on the public address system.
 

IF AIRCRAFT DOORS ARE CLOSE?

Gadgets during on Flights
* Mobile devices must be in Silent Mode or Airplane Mode (Silent Mode must be enabled).
Gadgets during on Flights
* Mobile devices can ONLY used for SMS and Internet.
* Phone calls are not allowed except via global system for mobile communication onboard aircraft (GSMOBA).

Gadgets during on Flights
* If you would like to listen to your music or watch your favorite videos/movies, you may do so, by using headset or earphones. NO EXTERNAL or AUDIO SPEAKERS allowed.
 

DURING THE AIRCRAFT TAKE-OFF AND LANDING

* Mobile phones must be on Silent Mode. It can only be used on SMS and Internet.
 

MOBILE DEVICES SWITCH OFF WHEN?

* If the aircraft is in refueling.
