China smartphone maker Xiaomi unveils their new mobile device – the Mi Pad 7.9-inch Tablet in Beijing (May 15, 2014).
Mi Pad 7.9” Sporting specs: 7.9″ IPS (2048 x 1536 resolution) capacitive touchscreen display, Quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A15 NVIDIA Tegra K1 of CPU/Chipset, 2GB of RAM, 192 Kepler of GPU, 16/32GB internal storage (Expandable via microSD card slot up to 128GB), Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2X2 antenna, 8MP rear / 5MP front camera shooter (both F/2.0), runs on Android OS and powered by 6700 mAh battery which gives you 1300 hours of standby time / 86 hours of music playback or 11 hours of video streaming. The company didn’t mention whether the tablet has 3G/4G enabled or GSM device.
Pretty looking tablet looks like an iPad mini.

Price / Availability: The Mi Pad will be available in China starting in June as an open beta. It will retail for around $240 for 16 GB (estimated/converted PHP 10,485.60 in Philippine pesos) and $270 for 64 GB (estimated/converted PHP 11,796.30 in Philippine pesos). No word yet if the company will expand it to other country or just in China.
