Headset/Earphone
Excellent sound, perfectly design, very elegant.
When I held the Smartphone, the grip were superb, although it was little bigger than Samsung Galaxy SII, this were perfectly fit for those people with large hands and who are active professionals and also for entertainment enthusiast such as watching movies, live video streaming, web surfing and social media apps .
What I like best on most Samsung Galaxy were the glossy style of it, plus the touch screen part for home, menu and applications. At the lower part of it, is the touch sensitive Option and Back key, and physical Home button. The 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touch screen, a big screen with lots of things to put on.
The screen has a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution with 16M color display which is very vivid, solid and clear. All applications seem colourful and stand out at first glance. This is totally expected for a high end Smartphone.
On the top part, the small hole is for the Microphone Voice/Voice Recording along with the 3.5mm stereo jack Headset port. If you have other earphones or headset you want to try, of course, this standard 3.5mm jack in can put any brand of earphones you want. And also, there is a snap-hook like so you can easily discharge the back cover part of the phone.
The four holes on the upper front of the phone, on the left side is the Service Light, and the 2 small holes in the right is for Proximity/Light sensors and the bigger one is for the Front camera. The silver bar with little holes on it is the Earpiece.
On below part, is also a small hole for the Microphone Voice/Voice Recording along with the micro USB port for charging the phone and data transfer.
Then at the left side there is the Volume key, so you can adjust the tone/sound levels.
On the other side is the Power/Reset/Lock key.
The Battery Li-Ion 2100 mAh, I think, it has more power on it, because of the CPU and GPU usage of the phone.
Unfortunately, the package doesn’t include microSD Memory card. But it is all worth it, when you have the phone. 😀
Let’s take the back part, you can see the 8.0 Megapixel camera with LED flash on it, very good picture and quality of it, it has mant features too. The maximum picture/camera pixel resolution is 3264×2448 which is very impressive in terms of quality.
For video quality, as a high end phone, you can expect good quality videos both recording and playing HD videos.
You can also see the Loudspeaker right side of the camera, excellent quality and good for loud speak conversations.
Opening the back part, from here, you can see the 2100mAh Lithium battery bay. Along with the MicroSIM card slot, for those who doesn’t have a MicroSIM card, probably you got the SIM card from you previous phone. (I think you can still used it. In some stores, they can cut it to fit into the MicroSIM card slot.) The microSD memory card slot, that has a maximum capacity up to 64GB(So you can put more music files, video files, etc..) From the manual, you can see how to put MicroSIM card and the microSD memory card.
Turning on the phone takes about 25 seconds. (more or less, I think depends on how the OS/applications loads up on the phone.) Turning off the phone approximately about 5 seconds.
The Samsung Galaxy SIII has a processor chipset Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 with an Operating System Android OS, v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), an excellent Android Smartphone for those hardcore app users and multitasking needs. Memory Usage for internal consumption varies on 16/32/64 GB storage, and has a 1GB RAM for maximum experience on Android Themes, widgets, apps, and HD video usage.
Network Connectivity, It has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, 2G-3G-4G Support, Quad band, All Share Play, Mobile Networking Sharing, VPN. Big screen is an advantage of this phone you can get, fast browsing and video HD quality for social media (fb, twitter, etc…)
While using Internet Browser you can zoom in and zoom out the webpages by expanding both sideways of the fingertips(outward) or closing in(inward).
Having said that big screen is an advantage is good for typing your sms messages on qwerty mode without a hassle.
For gaming experience, I cannot think of any games that don’t work. Of course this is a high end phone, so probably most of the games out on the Android Market / Google Play Store are compatible. I play Temple Run which is very smooth and nothing to worry on the gameplay. HD quality games much preferred to get most out it. 😀
On Video/Movie capabilities, For my experience, I play a movie using Movie/Video Player App called MoboPlayer and MX Player which plays all the Video/Movie codec/format such as AVI, MPEG, MKV, etc… Preferably HD quality for richer and vivid color of the video/movie and brings more life to video quality. .
Movie courtesy of American Pie Reunion, this film has respective copyrights. I used the movie for demonstration purposes only.
For battery life, expect the 2-3 days standby time, and on daily usage 1-2 days. All depends on the usage of the phone, if you used Wifi Connectivity, Social Media App Updates, Call and Text Usages, etc…
Features: Smart Stay which stays the bright display and when you take out of your sight, it goes asleep. Cool huh? Direct Call when on a text message to your friend then suddenly you decided to call your friend, just lift your phone and it automatically dials your friend’s number. Smart Alert vibrates and nudges you to know that you have unanswered calls and messages. Social Tag shows the current status of your friends. S Voice it does response to you when you speak, such as waking up, answering incoming call, take a photo, etc…
Overall Rating:
Responsiveness: 9/10 (depends on apps and usage)
Call and Text Usages: 10/10
Application Usage: 9/10 (depends on apps and usage)
Video Quality: 10/10
Camera Quality: 10/10
Presentation: 8/10
Connectivity: 10/10 (depends on apps, network connectivity and usage)
New Features: 9/10
