The Mobile Wi-Fi is made of plastic type material in an oval shape form factor.The power button is located on the front side, along with the LED light indicators.

On the Network cellular connectivity, it won’t show you how many bars or signal strength. To see and check the cellular connectivity, there are 3 color led indicator: GREEN = GOOD, ORANGE = WEAK/MINIMAL and RED = NO SIGNAL/BAD SIGNAL.

PERFORMANCE

The Huawei E5220 Mobile Wi-Fi supports UMTS/HSUPA/HSPA+ and GSM/GPRS/EDGE and a speed of HSDPA 21.6Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps. So for those who is hoping that this device has a 4G LTE connectivity, Sorry folks, no LTE support.

NOTE: Some acclaim that this device has a 4G LTE, they might interpolated it or misunderstand that the 4G is not generally equals to LTE. In fact, there are different versions of 4G. While the device can be in 4G network, it can be faster than 3G network but not as fast as LTE network.

As mention, no LTE support and that’s one flaw for this device. Other than that, the device can provide good and strong network connectivity, in the areas were covered with good network/telco services.

The Huawei E5220’s Wi-Fi connectivity can provide good and reliable connection up to 45 meters. The device can serve up to 10 simultaneous users/devices via Wi-Fi b/g/n protocol. The device can easily be shutdown by pressing and holding the power button until the LED light indicator turns off. It can quickly turn on and ready to serve in just about 12-15 seconds.

BATTERY

The battery capacity of the Huawei E5220 is 1150mAh, and battery can last up to 3.5 – 4 hours of continuous usage. The battery can be swap with another or extra battery. Better yet, if you plan to use it on longer hours, you may plug it to your PC/Laptop while in use or used a power bank.

COMPATIBILITY

For those who has iOS and Android device, no need to worry about how you can access your device to easily manage and send/receive text messages. Huawei create its own app available in app stores. But if you’re not familiar with that, you can access it via web browser. And of course, you need virtually connected to the device via Wi-Fi.

The Huawei E5220 Mobile Wi-Fi is a portable solution for Wi-Fi connectivity within its physical attributes of being compact and light. Sure it doesn’t have LTE connectivity, but it has everything you need for immediate internet connectivity within a size of a palm. Performance and price doesn’t seem to worry about, because it’s a bit better than average in comparison with other devices out there.

  1. agree hindi naman masyado need natin ng 4g lte, kasi sa ibang location wala pa naman 4g lte. badtrip nga e, nagapply ako ng 4g lte network kapag nasa ibang area ka na wala ng signal.

  2. yan din gamit ok naman sya at madaling gamitin at dalin. mabilis lang sya malowbat kasi maliit lang mAh nya. dala lang lagi extra bat or powerbank.

  3. nagpurchase din ako ng modem wi-fi 4g lte na, sa ibang area medyo walang signal its either H+ or E nakukuha mong signal at bumabagal din.

  4. tama hindi sya lte may 3g hspa+ lang mas mabilis sa 3g. pwede na rin sa pag-download tutal hindi pa naman tayo 100% lte sa bansa natin.
