I got this situation before, when I go out with my bandmates, I always bring my guitar tuner. Unfortunately, when we go out last time for certain event, I forgot to bring it, I need to tune up the acoustic guitar. Luckily, I have an Android Smartphone with a guitar tuner app, introducing gStrings!
What is Tuner – gStrings Free / Features? This is the ad supported version of Tuner – gStrings, a chromatic tuner application measuring sound pitch and intensity. It will let you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, piano, wind instruments). Features include: orchestra tuning (shifting/redefining tone frequencies), different temperaments (just, pythagorean, meantone, comma, etc.), a variable range nonlinear scale, microphone sensitivity setup, pitch pipe, etc…
Review: Honestly, It works smoothly without any lags or glitches. 100% Free with Ad supported (it’s good to me, I couldn’t ask for anything but to let it run), just for the support on the authors/developers. So far, I’m satisfied on how it tunes my acoustic guitar whenever I have a gig or jam with my bandmates. It works very well, it automatically tune my acoustic guitar (accurate and simple) in no time.
Cheers! We hope this tip helps you out! 😀
(Note: Tested on Samsung Galaxy SII, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V, and Sony Xperia Sola, it may work also on other Sony Xperia and Android Smartphones, but still I’m not sure about it. Just see for yourself, if you own one.)
(Disclosure: Sony(Sony Xperia Sola, Neo V), Samsung(Galaxy S2) and Android OS, Applications Logo/Images/Pictures has a respective copyright. I used it for demonstration purpose only.)
