In order to connect to FileZilla FTP Server you need the following components:
* A computer running on – Windows OS / Mac / Linux
* Internet Connection
* Know the FTP Server IP Address (e.g. 128.25.24.23)
* Must have the FTP Server user account (user id and password)
INSTALLATION:
1. Download FileZilla FTP Client (https://filezilla-project.org)
2. Install the FileZilla FTP Client application. (Installation is quiet easy you won’t need an instruction!)
*For Ubuntu Linux Distro – you can used Ubuntu Software Center to install the FileZilla Client
SETTINGS / MANAGING SITE MANAGER:
3. After the installation, launch the FileZilla Client, click File and then click Site Manager or Press CTRL+S to launch the Site Manager dialog prompt.
After the Site Manager prompt launch, click New Site.
4. GENERAL TAB
Type a name for your new site.
Host: the FTP Server IP Address or Host Address URL Name
Port: 21 (by default, FTP uses port 21)
Protocol: FTP (by default, usage of other protocol depends on FTP Server)
Encryption: Use plain FTP (by default, usage of other protocol depends on FTP Server)
Logon Type: Normal (by default, usage of other protocol depends on FTP Server)
User: (username / user id provided by the FTP Server)
Password: (password provided by the FTP Server)
Leave Account or Comments unfilled.
5. ADVANCED TAB (From here you can set Server Type, Bypass proxy, Default local directory, Default remote directory)
*In case you don’t have any preferences in here, or you don’t know what to do here, just leave it as is.
6. TRANSFER SETTINGS (From here you can set Transfer mode, Limit number of simultaneous connections)
*In case you don’t have any preferences in here, or you don’t know what to do here, just leave it as is.
7. CHARSET (From here you can set Charset encoding: Autodetect, Force UTF-8, Use custom charset)
*In case you don’t have any preferences in here, or you don’t know what to do here, just leave it as is.
That’s it! You can now connect, click Connect after all the setup is done.
