(Note: For GNOME GUI – Ubuntu, In Ubuntu Unity GUI you can search for this term “Remote Desktop” at search box or in System – Preferences.)
Go to System > Preferences > then click Remote Desktop.
Then at Remote Desktop Preferences, this is the settings on how other users like you will access the Ubuntu Desktop. You can set following settings on your choice, in terms of Sharing, Security and Notification Area.
To enable to control or remote desktop access the Ubuntu Desktop,
First set the Sharing, check Allow other users to view your Desktop, check Allow other users to control your desktop. Then in Security, check You must confirm each access to this machine, (if there is someone monitoring the Ubuntu Deskop or else leave it uncheck, but you put the computer at risk). Then check Require the user to enter this password(put a secure password on this). Then at Notification Area, as I mention earlier, if there someone monitoring the Ubuntu Desktop, Notification Area is also a good choice to know if somebody on your network tried to access the Ubuntu Desktop Remotely.
Then click Close after all the settings you made.
