Adobe Photoshop suddenly closes while working certain opened files without warning or error messages
By: Revengsky Joseph D. Reyes (a.k.a rjdreyes – jcyberinux.com)
An unexpected error occurred on Adobe Photoshop while working certain file, suddenly closes without any prompt to save my work or to prompt error messages. My most encountered problems can be related to corrupt Preferences that you need to delete and renew Photoshop Preferences. It can be outdated graphic card driver, you need to update it. Other thing is to update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages.
Here’s the solution to the problem:
SOLUTION 1 (Photoshop Preferences maybe corrupted)
1. Launch or Open the Adobe Photoshop, then quickly hold press the 3 keys (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT Buttons). You should do the right timing on this.
2. As the Photoshop Loads, it will prompt a dialog box asking you if would like to “Delete the Photoshop Settings File?” from here, click Yes.
3. It will successfully load the Photoshop, reload or input your previous settings (if you have one) then exit the Photoshop. Then re-launch Photoshop.
SOLUTION 2 (Update Graphic Card Driver)
For some reasons, if you’re graphic card driver is outdated, you need to update it and configure it. Click here to my related post about Photoshop brush master diameter size bugs.
SOLUTION 3 (Update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages)
Another issue can be found on outdated Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages, try to update it then see the results. Click here for more info and to download Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages.
I hope this simple tip helps you out! Cheers! 😀
