Recently, I post my personal review about ALCATEL ONE TOUCH GLORY 918N an affordable Dual-SIM Android Smartphone. Then test necessary applications and stuff on the phone.
Some people tend to ask questions, regarding an Android video player. In my quest of researching and testing amongst Android video player, so far, the MoboPlayer gives me the best output that I need the most.
I recently test other Video/Media Player, and they play my videos. But does it play well enough? Actually, if I’m going to rate it, it would be 6 or 7/10. Although, the Video/Audio and subtitles are in sync, but the video is sluggish or lag effect, moreover, it is not that smooth enough.
Then one of my colleagues suggest me to used MoboPlayer (Thanks Billy!), upon reading a lot of positive user’s reviews, I give it a try. I said to myself, what a heck just let it a roll.
MoboPlayer which plays all the Video/Movie codec/format such as AVI, MPEG, MKV, etc… I think most of the codec/format can be played here. Try it yourself.
Video player supports:(based from the website MoboPlayer – Google Play)
All video formats (need to choose “software decoding” mode in most cases)
Popular subtitle formats such as SRT, ASS, and SAA
Subtitles built in MKV, MPV, MOV, and others
Multi-audio streams and multi-subtitles
Playlists and continuous play on same type files
Videos streamed through HTTP, RTSP protocols
Media libraries and sort videos by type
Thumbnail displays of videos
For installation: it was easy all you need is a Google account or if you have Gmail account that will do. Have your Android Smartphone ready, mine was Alcatel One Touch Glory 918N. From there, you need an Internet connection (WIFI) and then just select the Google Play Store / Android Market. Then search for MoboPlayer then Download/Install it. Then run MoboPlayer it will ask for the download of MoboPlayer codec, so download it on Android Market, from there you can install it.
So I give it a run to play the video, my first expectation was the playback were not that smooth, but I was surprised. The Movie played smoothly and without lags and not even pixilated.
Here’s the sample video I played on MoboPlayer:
The video format of the video is .AVI(Not HD quality).
(Note: For ALCATEL ONE TOUCH GLORY 918N, You may experience sluggish/lags or not smoothly play video and also the video/audio are not in sync, maybe because you play a HD video. I think the hardware/system is not capable to play a HD video quality.)
Basic Requirements to Download / Install MoboPlayer:
Android Smartphone (please see compatibility first)
Internet Connection (thru WIFI or 3G)
Web Browser / Google Play Store / Android Market App
