Steps how to root/unroot your Huawei Ascend Mate:

1. Go to the official xda forum site [ROOT] Framaroot (click here) and then Download the latest attached file.

2. Using your Android device, install the application (apk), it may prompt you a dialog like (Complete action using – Package installer or Verify and install, just select Package installer)

3. After the installation, launch the Framaroot app, select an action to execute after root, Install SuperSU. Select an exploit in list above to potentially root your device.

For Huawei Ascend Mate (and other Huawei Devices if I’m not mistaken) it’s Pippin exploit as default.

4. Tap the selected exploit, then from there a message will be shown that you’re Android device successfully rooted.

TO UNROOT: Just follow the step number 3, launch the Framaroot app, but this time, select an action to execute after root as Unroot. Afterwards, tap the Pippin exploit. That should do it.
