How to Change Ubuntu Gnome to Unity/Netbook Edition on Ubuntu 10.04 / 10.10

Unity is a new GUI Environment available on new release such as Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10, it brings powerful features with free software technologies embedded in the syste. Plus a attractiveness and design that put together into one new whole world GUI Environment.

(Note: For better results, you need an internet connection to download updates, and install software packages to be used in here.)

To enable the Unity Desktop to Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 10.10 you need to download or to install software packages.

1. At the Desktop, go to Applications, then Accessories, then click to Terminal.

2. At Terminal, type sudo apt-get install ubuntu-netbook (On Ubuntu 10.04), and sudo apt-get install unity (at Ubuntu 10.10), then wait after the installation or upgrades finish. Note: In other cases, it will ask for your account password, so type in your password 😀

3. Then exit the Terminal or close it, then logout at your account, then before you login your account, choose on the dropdown box menu. Then choose Ubuntu Netbook Edition, then login to your account. 😀
