How to fix CuteFTP or any FTP Client download and upload transfer speed, and also Max concurrent transfers. Why the CuteFTP client download/upload files one at a time, and not multiple or multi-part concurrent transfers.
It happen particularly both software and hardware issues and control. But mainly reason can be software update related. If you are using Windows/Linux OS probably you just need to update hardware’s drive and system updates.
For example, Using Windows like CuteFTP client, you need to patch both updated Fast Ethernet NIC or LAN card driver and system updates of your current Windows Operating System, I experience this once on my Windows XP Professional Computer (PC).
To fix it, 1.) First, check your LAN or Network Ethernet Card driver, if it’s not yet updated, try to update it, go to its vendor website (such like in my case, I got Realtek NIC/LAN Card).
To check it, go to Device Manager.
In Windows 7, click Start (with Windows Logo), go to Control Panel, and then click System, from there click the Device Manager.
In Windows XP Pro, click Start (with Windows Logo), go to Settings, and then click Control Panel, find System then double-click it to open. From System Properties, go to Hardware Tab, then from there click Device Manager.
Go to Network Adapters click expand drop-down arrow, then choose the LAN or NIC Card, right-click and choose Properties. From there, go to Driver Tab, then check the Driver Version located to it, then compare it on the Vendor’s Website. (Note: You can used the Update Driver button, to automatically locate an update driver for your NIC or LAN card driver).
2.) Download Additional updates such as if you are using Windows XP Proferssional SP1 or SP2, try to update it to SP3 (Service Pack 3).
Procedure if you are using Windows SP1, download and update it using Windows XP SP1a then after that, download and update it using Windows XP SP2, then download and update it using Windows XP SP3.
Procedure if you are using Windows SP2, download and update it using Windows XP SP3.
(Note: Restart or Reboot is required, to take effect any changes in the system.)
Please read this articles / links before you proceed:
For Windows 7 – Go to Control Panel, then click Windows Update. From there, click Check Updates…
If none of the method above resolves the issue, then is about time to look further into the software conflicts such as registry or probably hardware related issue. Try to diagnose it by using another NIC or Fast Ethernet Card then see if the issue is resolved. Check also the settings of your Network, such as your router and ISP provider.
I hope this instructions helps you out! 😀
