Control and access Ubuntu 12.04 LTS via Desktop Sharing and Remote Desktop Viewer

For Ubuntu Desktop Users especially with Unity GUI.
(Note: For this event you may need an internet connection, in case of need to install or download available updates on your Ubuntu OS.)
1. Click Ubuntu Logo, then type Desktop Sharing. From Desktop Sharing Preferences, set your desired settings. (See example illustration.)
Check Allow other users to view your desktop, and Allow other users to control your desktop, so that you can remotely access and control the ubuntu desktop within your network. Check on Security, Require user to enter this password, and then type a desired password. Notification is just simply a message that the ubuntu desktop is being access and controlled.
2. From the other Ubuntu Desktop that you’re going to used on remote access, you need to install Remote Desktop Viewer, via Ubuntu Software Center.
3. After the installation is complete, launch the Remote Desktop Viewer, then click connect, set a Protocol to VNC, set the appropriate IP Address, then click connect.
It will prompt to enter a password of the host (the password that you set earlier on Desktop Sharing), then click Authenticate.
4. You can remotely access the Ubuntu Desktop via Windows Platform, you just need to install UltraVNC. It’s practically same approach on the Remote Desktop Viewer.
Please share for any additional information here in our comment. Cheers! 😀
(Note: Ubuntu(Unity and Applications) Logo/Images/Pictures has a respective copyright. I used it for demonstration purpose only.)
