Great news for Xperia M5 and M5 Dual users! The Android 5.1 Lollipop version is now available for both variants with build number 30.1.A.1.33 (Xperia M5) and 30.1.B.1.33 (Xperia M5 Dual).

What included in the software updates?
– Improvements to volume and silent mode control, more control of your alerts.
– Can take pictures from the camera using Sony SmartWatch 3
– Android security patch (2016-01-01)

Just received an update notification via PC Companion (for the Xperia M5 Dual variant) shown below is the screenshot. It seems both variants released their updated firmware as describe on the official website (link 1) (link 2). You can also check it via wireless update from the device (Go to Settings – About phone – Software update).

  1. android 5.1 naman next na is android 6.0 kailan kaya nila marerelease ito. na fix kaya nila lahat ng issues sa m5? tulad ng autoshutdown.

  2. great thanks for the update, it seems the charging led light fix on the updated firmware. Before when i unplug the charger from the wall socket, the led light doesn’t disapper. But now its fix, thanks!

  3. it didn’t fix the auto shutdown, still intermittent shutdown due to switching frequency between gsm/wcdma and lte. only solution is to used gsm or wcdma only. some issues are fix like the previous comment(s).

  4. beautiful smartphone however, my concern is the phone’s condition. as i read about some issues of m5 dual. is it true? anyway, hold on to my budget before i purchase this and until everything is clear.
